Tallebudgera Valley, QLD (21 November 2022) A rare mega mountain home site spanning more than 160 hectares in the Gold Coast hinterland has sold to a private investor for $4 million.

The slice of rainforest paradise, at 142 Ryans Road, Tallebudgera Valley, was sold by acreage specialist Debbie Frizelle, Principal Raine & Horne Broadbeach.

“This property offered the buyers a rare opportunity to purchase a large acreage just 35 minutes out of the Gold Coast,” Ms Frizelle said.

“There is no other acreage anywhere close to this size in the area.”

The only address on Ryans Road, the stunning property features a large 425 sqm self-contained steel shed complete with separate living, kitchen, bedroom, and bathrooms. Newer additions to the property include a 650,000-litre rainwater tank and a 20K solar system.

Ms Frizelle, who spent two decades running her own acreage breeding horses and cattle, said: “It’s a totally off-grid property with dams, natural springs, and billabongs throughout. The topography is amazing, with the terrain changing from tropical to massive gum trees.

“The colours of the foliage change all over the property with acres of fruit trees planted.”

Buyers to explore new ventures

Advertised as a tourism development opportunity, the Victorian-based buyers plan to use the site to grow tea.

“At the top of the Mountain ‘Eagles Nest’ nearly 2000 ft above sea level, which is accessible by 4WD vehicle or helicopter, provides spectacular 360-degree views, north to Moreton Island, south to Byron Bay lighthouse and west to the mountains”, Ms Frizelle explained.

The property has 14 kilometres of 4WD tracks to the top of Tallebudgera Mountain.

“Along the tracks are numerous feeding stations for the area’s native animals and birdlife,” Ms Frizelle added.

“The property is also home to two old timber cottages, storage sheds, and a laboratory building used previously for cultivating hybrid fruit trees.”
