Dalby launches new office in regional Queensland

March 12, 2020

Leading real estate group Raine & Horne has timed the opening of its new office in the Darling Downs region perfectly with news property values across regional Queensland are rebounding[i].

Raine & Horne Dalby will open on 9 March with rural specialist Brendan Gilliland leading the new office.

Mr Gilliland, who will continue to operate his successful livestock and property agency, is being supported by wife Hannah Gilliland, a real estate specialist with a wealth of property management experience. As General Manager of the new office, Mrs Gilliland will oversee sales and property management, while local expert Richard Bumstead will assist with rural property sales.

With a passion for marketing, Mr Gilliland enjoys the day to day challenges of securing maximum results for his clients through innovative and forward-thinking marketing. “Brendan strives to deliver a top result, and he prides himself on offering a professional, honest and reliable service to his clients,” said Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne.

“He works tirelessly for his clients and holds a great rapport with many of the local buyers and vendors, and these qualities will enable Brendan and his team to challenge the real estate status quo in Dalby.”

Starting a Raine & Horne Dalby is a career highlight

Awarded NSW Runner Up at the 2006 Young Auctioneer Competition in Sydney, Mr Gilliland was also a Queensland Finalist in 2011. He is a Level 1 (Professional) AuctionsPlus Assessor, while he considers the launch of Raine & Horne Dalby his most significant achievement yet.

Mr Gilliland attributes his business success to his strong and very loyal clientele. “I never take for granted the trust and responsibility that my clients place in me. I get up each day and want to achieve the very best that I can, making sure no stone is left unturned.”

He continued, “I have a great love for the Darling Downs and know there is much opportunity here for those wanting to strive and go forward.”

Economic diversity drives local property market

Dalby has a diversified economy supporting a population of almost 13,000 and a robust local real estate market. “We have strong agricultural, farming and retail sectors, while there are also some local mining and gas projects, as well as solar and wind farms which are attracting fly in/flyout (FIFO) workers to Dalby.”

Other significant employers include the Dalby Hospital, and there are several secondary and primary schools. Mr Gilliland, said, “I can’t think of a better place than Dalby to put down roots and raise a young family.”

The median house price in Dalby is $240,000, while the median weekly rent is $275, which represents a healthy yield of almost 6%, according to Raine & Horne.

“Apart from sales, we will focus on bringing Raine & Horne’s high levels of property management services to Dalby landlords,” Mrs Gilliland said.

Joining the celebration

The Gillilands were attracted to Raine & Horne because the company is celebrating 137 years of Raine family ownership. “We wanted the strength of a well-known property brand behind us as we launch into real estate,” Mrs Gilliland said.

“We did our due diligence and spoke to several of the major property brands and decided Raine & Horne offered us the highest level of support and we loved the fact the same family that started the business is still leading the way.

“The values and integrity that are associated with the Raine & Horne brand are also important to Brendan and I.”

Mrs Gilliland continued, “Raine & Horne is a technology leader, and we are impressed with the reach that it’s digital marketing platform Amplify can deliver.

“We’ve also been taken with Digikit, the fantastic digital interactive sales and property management proposal platform that offers eye-catching paperless appraisals to vendors.

“Digikit and Amplify provide the brand with extra marketing strength, and we will use both products with plenty of confidence.”

Away from the business, Mr and Mrs Gilliland spend time working on the family farm with their children and supporting several local community causes.

“I believe that being an agent isn’t just a job but a lifestyle, and one that I am proud to share with my family,” Mr Gilliland said.
