Payments to Grower
Kindly note that the following is a very basic overview of what is outlined in the Grower/Processor Contract.
Monthly payments - that can vary in accordance with bonuses and efficiency ratings.
Batch payments - paid soon after the batch has left the farm - in essence paid per square metre and recognized ("linking") the reimbursements of gas, electricity and water, litter replacement is looked at as well in the overall payments. Approximately 6 batches (therefore 6 batch payments per year).
The Broiler (Meat Bird) Growing Industry
The Industry has maintained massive growth, particularly over the last three decades, whilst contemporaneously maintaining the meat costs (for the consumer), at competitive levels, well below that of beef and veal, lamb and pork.
The consumer is now fully aware of the need to embrace a healthy diet with low fat - indeed chicken meat is versatile (in food preparation), healthy and certainly value for money.
Consumption of this product is also increasing (as a percentage of other meat products) - a result as a well run professional industry with high standards embraced by both the Grower and the Processor - logically with the highest bird quality/animal husbandry standards at the forefront.
Notably, for you as a Grower - there is monthly cash flow, plus 6 main batches ("crop") - hence cash flow stability which is superior to many other horticultural activities whereby for example there is only one crop per year.
Summary
Be part of a stable industry which provides higher returns than many other agricultural pursuits and economic activities, in an area with assured capital growth, and relatively close to amenities - once again just 50 minutes from Adelaide.
