PINK IN THE TROPICS INC/AFL SPORTS DAY
On Saturday, the annual Pink in the Tropics Inc/Crocs AFL Sports Day combined event unfolded, marking a moment of support, and celebration within the community. "The Pink in the Tropics Inc. is a community based charity Breast Cancer Support Group to support those recently diagnosed, undergoing treatment and to celebrate our survivors" - Pink in The Tropics
The day kicked off with the annual Pink In the Tropics luncheon that was held at Lichi Port Douglas this year, which is a new fusion cuisine restaurant in town. Our very own Raine & Horne Mossman/Port Douglas Licensee/Director Travis Schumacher donated his time to be the Auctioneer of the event, and had a lot of fun auctioning off various items that local businesses and individuals kindly donated for the event. With lots of energy and enthusiasm, Travis had a great time auctioning and helping raise money for a great cause.
After the luncheon at Lichi Port Douglas, everyone headed down to the Croc Pit to support the Local Crocs AFL team , who each year verse the Cairns Saints AFL Club for the special annual occasion. The Crocs Men's Development unfortunately didn't catch them this year with Cairns Saints taking the win by 78 points, however, the Crocs Men's Senior team & Crocs Women's team both triumphed over the Cairns Saints team. Crocs Men's Seniors took the victory with a 54 point win and the Crocs Women's team dominated the field, winning by a remarkable 58 points. This also marked an even more special occasion for the Port Douglas Women's Crocs to win their first game of the year and first ever game in the AFL Cairns football league, on the Pink In the Tropics round.
