We are back again for our annual Christmas Lights Community Event Competition!! 

The holiday season is fast approaching, and we are so excited to announce the return of our Annual Christmas Light Community Event Competition! This year, we’re spreading the festive cheer even further by expanding the competition to include both residential and commercial categories. Whether you’re lighting up your home or your business, we want to see your most dazzling displays! Let’s make Port Douglas shine bright and festive, not only for our community but also for the tourists who come to enjoy the holiday season with us. 

Categories and Prizes: 

1. Best Christmas Light Display - Residential 
   Prize: $500 for the brightest and most creative home display. 

1. Best Commercial Shop Front - Port Douglas 
   Prize: We will purchase a $250 voucher from the winning Port Douglas business and gift it to a community member to spend, supporting our local businesses this Christmas. 

1. Best Commercial Shop Front - Mossman 
   Prize: We will also purchase a $250 voucher from the winning Mossman business and give it to a community member to spend, spreading the holiday cheer and supporting our local businesses across Mossman & Port Douglas.  

How to Enter:  

• Simply message us a video of your festive decorated home/shop front on Facebook

• Include your name, contact number, email, and address. 

• We will post each entry on our Facebook page, and the winner of each category will be determined by the highest number of Facebook Likes.

The competition closes on Monday 16th December 2024, and winners will be revealed on Wednesday 18th December 2024. 

This is a wonderful way to bring the community together so whether you’re a local homeowner or a local business owner, we encourage you to get involved and show us your most festive side! 

It’s up to you, the entry with the most likes on Facebook wins, so rally your friends, family, and neighbours to vote. Let’s light up our towns and make this holiday season a memorable one—good luck to all!

Terms & Conditions: 

Entry to this competition commences 9am AEST Wednesday 20th November 2024 and closes 9am AEST Monday 16th December 2024. Entry is free and open to residents residing in the following suburbs: Port Douglas, Mossman, Craiglie, Mowbray, Cooya Beach, Newell Beach, Miallo and Wonga Beach. To enter, the entrant must submit their full name, address, phone number and a video of their decorated home or shop front via the Raine & Horne Mossman/Port Douglas Facebook page. There are three prize categories consisting of Best Residential Lights Display, Best Port Douglas Commercial Shop Front Display & Best Mossman Commercial Shop Front Display. The entry video with the highest number of ‘Likes’ on Facebook for Residential home will win a $500 EFTPOS Gift Voucher. The entry video with the highest number of ‘Likes’ on Facebook for both Commercial shop fronts will receive a $250 voucher purchased from their businesses, to be given to a community member chosen at random, who either got involved by voting on their favourite lights display or entered the competition themselves. Prizes cannot be exchanged or transferred. Winners will be announced on Facebook by close of business Wednesday 18th December 2024. Winners will be contacted afterwards to organise the collection of their associated prize.
