Raine & Horne Foundation House offers 4,000 nights of accommodation with Dignity

July 8, 2022

Dignity has named one of their guest houses Raine & Horne Foundation House, to show appreciation of Raine & Horne’s continued support for the service empowering people who are experiencing homelessness.

This house provides self-contained supported temporary accommodation for people experiencing homelessness including men, women, and couples with on-site support to empower people to find their path forward out of homelessness. With 11 furnished, self-contained units, the House offers over 4000 nights of accommodation per year.

Mr Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne, said, “It is rewarding to see the tangible impact that the Raine & Horne Foundation has had on Dignity, following the launch of the partnership in July 2021.

“A huge focus of this Gold Sponsorship was productive assistance, which is why we had great success with our one-for-one, Take a walk in their socks campaign. This saw 1,600 pairs of socks donated to Dignity, alongside $50,000 to help the daily operations of the service. The unveiling of Raine & Horne Foundation House is incredibly humbling, as we continue our support of Dignity.”

Ms Suzanne Hopman, CEO & Founder of Dignity said, “When the Raine & Horne Foundation invited Dignity to be its inaugural charity partner, we were very grateful and excited to partner with a foundation that was committed to driving long-lasting change.”

Empowering people experiencing homelessness with Dignity

Raine & Horne Foundation House provides a true home-like environment. Coupled with the comforts often taken for granted, from home-cooked food to fresh sheets and clean towels. A support worker is on-site to assist their guests as they find their journey back “home”.

Dignity currently provides supported temporary accommodation and longer-term stable housing, including the newly launched Ready To Work Housing, for hundreds of people every night of the year and operates multiple programs to prevent homelessness, including food relief and education across Australia.

The Raine & Horne Foundation’s support for Australia’s future

The Raine & Horne Foundation solidifies and represents 139 years of charitable giving by Raine & Horne. Dedicated to providing support for Australia’s future well-being, welfare, and environment. As the inaugural charity partner, the partnership with Dignity was initiated at a time when the organisation experienced a surge in demand for their services due to the pandemic.

“Thanks to Raine & Horne’s support, we have been able to rise to many of the challenges we have faced since the start of the pandemic. Sadly, we are expecting homelessness to continue to rise, and corporate collaboration can make a huge difference,” Ms Hopman said
