Abby Bourke

Born and raised in the Clarence Valley, Abby is the youngest daughter of former Director and business owner Ken Giese and his wife Chris.

Abby completed her Higher School Certificate at Maclean High School in 2003 and ventured north to the Gold Coast to undertake further studies. Meeting husband Brandon Bourke on the Gold Coast, the pair left the Coast to pursue their corporate careers in Brandon’s home State of Victoria.

Securing a role at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre within the first few days of arriving in Melbourne, Abby feels privileged to have of been a part of this iconic organisation for almost twelve years.

Starting as a Sales Coordinator, Abby quickly discovered her passion for business administration and was promoted to an Executive Assistant position supporting the Director of Sales. Within a short time, Abby’s role evolved seeing her support three Directors simultaneously, leading to her being appointed to the position of Executive Assistant (EA) to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board. A role she held for five years.

With exposure to the events industry on an international scale, Abby’s role as EA to the Chief Executive provided her with extensive experience in executive administration, excelling in business report writing, international and national travel coordination and relationship building with high profile CEO’s and EA’s alike.

In 2021 Abby, Brandon and their son Harvey were presented with an opportunity to return to Yamba and the Clarence Valley to join the Raine & Horne – Maclean, Yamba, Iluka family and lead the business through its recent transformation.

Abby is the Operations Manager and oversees all aspects of the day-to-day running of the business, alongside the leadership team. Abby’s project and event management skills, attention to detail and exposure to strategic planning and new technologies has seen her quickly become an imperative member of the team.

Outside of the business, Abby and her family have been heavily involved in the Lower Clarence Suns Junior AFL Club since its inception. Securing Raine & Horne Maclean, Yamba, Iluka as the major sponsor, Abby has also been appointed by the Club as the lead organising its annual gala event.
