Raine & Horne scores vote of confidence in Nation’s Capital

May 4, 2022

Superbrand Raine & Horne has launched a residential real estate office in the Nation’s Capital led by an alumni agent Vic Srbinovski and his bother Igor Srbinovski.

The brothers in arms, who have enjoyed extensive and successful careers in local real estate, have launched Raine & Horne Queanbeyan/Jerrabomberra after switching to the national property brand from a Canberra-based group.

The dynamic duo has been joined in their new venture by their sister Irena Morschel. Mrs Morschel is the Office Manager at Raine & Horne Queanbeyan/Jerrabomberra that will specialise in residential sales and property management and off-the-plan projects.

Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne, is delighted the Srbinovski siblings have joined his almost 140-year-old family-owned and operated firm.

“Vic, Igor and Irena are not only recognised for their long history in the ACT and Queanbeyan property markets, but they are Canberra through and through, having grown up in the region since the 1980s, attended local schools, supported local sporting organisations and they still all live locally,” said Mr Raine.

“Igor certainly has his hands full. Apart from starting a new business with his siblings, he became a father for the second time in April and is building a new home in the region. Coincidentally Vic and Irena are also building homes, which underlines the family’s long-term attachment to the Canberra and Queanbeyan regions.”

Mr Raine added, “I look forward to working with our newest recruits to deliver our unique ecosystem of digital technology services to owners, buyers, investors and tenants in Canberra, Queanbeyan, and Jerrabomberra.”

Back to a digital marketing future

For Vic Srbinovski, who worked with Raine & Horne in the middle 1990s, switching his office’s allegiance to the Superbrand is a classic back to the future move.

“For me, it’s a 360-degree change. I started my career with Raine & Horne in sales over 25 years ago, and if all goes to plan, I will end my career with them.”

Mr Srbinovski continued, “We are excited by the ability to tap into Raine & Horne’s product benefits and ecosystem of digital firsts such as social media marketing tool Amplify and online proposal and listing tool, DigiKit,” said Mr Srbinovski.

“Raine & Horne’s products are more polished than any products we could get off the shelf, and we are delighted to be able to tap into Raine & Horne’s investment and research that put products such as Amplify ahead of the curve.

“But it is also something of a comfort after all these years that Raine & Horne is still owned and operated by the Raine family. The family values and culture of Raine & Horne resonates with me, Igor, and Irena.

“Throw the family dynamic together with the dynamic of systems and technology and joining Raine & Horne is exactly what we’re after.”

Raine & Horne’s Corporate support in 2022 has also caught the attention of Vic Srbinovski. “Having the support of Angus Raine and National Head of Growth & Network Manager Tina Ashton is second to none compared to other groups. It’s just amazing.

“Angus was working elsewhere when I was with Raine & Horne in 1995. You can see the difference he’s made, particularly with his technology leadership.”

Mr Igor Srbinovski agrees with the nostalgia of his brother returning to his first employer in combination with the Superbrand’s technology suite was central to the launch of Raine & Horne Queanbeyan/Jerrabomberra.

“It helps that Raine & Horne owns a lot of its technology and doesn’t rely on third parties. This enables us to tweak our technology to make instant improvements to support our client’s needs,” said Mr Srbinovski, who recently clocked up 15 years in the Canberra and Queanbeyan real estate markets.

“However, with the market powering along in the ACT and Queanbeyan, the move to Raine & Horne is timely for us,” Mr Srbinovski said.

Sydney investors drive demand for ACT AND Queanbeyan real estate

The ACT market is currently generating annual returns of almost 21% annually, while investors can enjoy yields as high as 5-6%, Mr Srbinovski noted.

“Investors are a big part of the buying pool and not just from Canberra but from Sydney where Raine & Horne has a major presence. Sydney investors find our numbers remarkable as they can buy a property here for $600,000 and rent it for $700.”

To illustrate, a three-bedroom townhouse at 6/24 Truebridge Street, Wright[i], which is 10 minutes from Canberra’s Civic Centre, sold three years ago off the plan for $480,000.

“This property is now expected to sell for a low $700,000s and will rent for about $700 a week,” Mr Srbinovski said. “Try finding returns like this in Sydney.”

Mr Srbinovski says the ACT and Queanbeyan’s low unemployment rates, transport convenience, excellent schools and universities underpin the region’s low vacancy rates of almost zero.
