Interstate buyers pounce on the best of Douglas Shire living after snapping up Baha Villas

November 18, 2022

Key points

  • Four exclusive off-the-plan villas in tropical Port Douglas in far north Queensland have sold for almost $2.2 million each, bucking market trends in other parts of Australia.
  • Created in conjunction with successful developer and multi-award winner Nathan Verri, the four twin-level villas are due for completion by around Christmas 2023.
  • Southern state buyers purchased the four villas as winter escapes, a trend turbocharged by COVID.

Port Douglas QLD (21 November 2022) The sale of four exclusive luxury four-bedroom villas in Port Douglas for $2.19 million each has again demonstrated the unquenched demand from southern state buyers for stunning Far North Queensland tropical living.

Selling agent Travis Schumacher, Director, Raine & Horne Port Douglas/Mossman, said, “The sale of four ultra-modern two-level Baha Villas demonstrates quality, well-located Port Douglas real estate will continue to be snapped up in a heartbeat.

“The villas sold around the owner’s price expectations which also demonstrates that the values of quality, well-located Port Douglas property is bucking real estate trends in other parts of Australia.”

Created in conjunction with successful developer and multi-award winner Nathan Verri, the four villas are due to be completed around Christmas 2023 and were purchased by buyers from Melbourne, Tasmania, and NSW.

“While plenty of buyers were purchasing quality properties in our region before 2020 as winter escapes, there is no question that COVID lockdowns in 2020 and 2021 turbocharged demand for quality second homes that allowed the buyers to escape the harshness of the southern state winters.

Sale optimism will continue long-term

The sales follows Raine and Horne’s previous involvement and success with similar luxury developments, including Vivo Villas in Palm Cove, Luxe on Amphora, as well as the Luna and Nova Villas.

“The southern state buyer demand created during the pandemic years was a massive shot in the arm for the luxury villa market in Port Douglas. This demand will endure long after the pandemic fades into a distant memory,” Mr Schumacher said.

“There are similar projects in the pipeline, although supply will struggle to keep up with demand, which will underpin long-term capital values.”

The lifestyle homes, when completed, will speak for themselves.

The Bahas Villas have been created for those buyers who perhaps might want to use their new luxurious pad as a holiday rental or executive home.

“We’re proud of the product and feel the Baha Villas will prove timeless. It is going to look great driving into Port Douglas and seeing this beautiful product being built and getting finished.

“At the end of the day, the developer Nathan Verri has given himself a great reputation in delivering superb products, so when we put it out there to the market, the enquiry level came through quickly once the market grasped the Bahas Villas are a Verri development.”

According to Mr Schumacher, the exquisite two-level 350 square metre properties have four master bedrooms with ensuites and a lower-level powder room, two kitchens and a private swimming pool, which maximises the magical airflow that is crucial to tropical living.

“The Bahamas-inspired chic interior design also extends to the kitchen, lounge area and outdoor BBQ area and into a beautifully landscaped fully irrigated garden area which provides extra privacy and a true sense of retreat.

“The properties are just a five-minute walk to the famous Four Mile Beach and a two-minute drive to Port Douglas Village and Crystalbrook Marina.”
