- Raine & Horne shines bright as Sunshine Coast expansion gains momentum
Raine & Horne has added another office on the picturesque Sunshine Coast of Queensland, catering to the areas surrounding Glenview and Glasshouse Mountains.
The launch of Raine & Horne Glenview/Glasshouse Mountains follows the acquisition of the well-established independent firm SCR Hinterland Property. Spearheading the new office at 2575 Steve Irwin Way, Glenview, will be the experienced real estate principal, Garry Jones.
Mr Jones will be supported by his wife and General Manager Rose Jones, while Ben Guillemet, who was part of the SCR team, will remain with the business to provide continuity to the firm’s client base.
According to Mr Jones, the decision to join forces with Raine & Horne was driven by the need for access to industry-leading technology and streamlined systems.
“The technology and the systems that Raine & Horne have are way beyond what an independent could organise and fund themselves.”
Mr Jones highlighted Raine & Horne’s exclusive social media platform Amplify and CompassPlus, a web-based CRM that allows sales, property management and administrative staff to simplify and integrate various real estate operations, ultimately providing more efficient services.
“As independents, we find it challenging to finance such advanced technology. However, when we become part of a group like Raine & Horne, the costs are distributed among all members, making it much more affordable,” he explained.
“Joining a group like Raine & Horne is the way that real estate is going because of the backup and the assistance provided. While independent businesses tend to emerge during prosperous market conditions, they inevitably vanish when the market takes a downturn, thus depriving vendors, purchasers, and landlords of service longevity.”
From New Zealand to the Sunshine Coast
Hailing from New Zealand, Mr Jones brings a wealth of sales expertise, with an impressive track record that spans two decades as the owner of multiple homewares retail establishments in New Zealand. After a prosperous tenure in sales with the mining giant Rio Tinto in Western Australia, he decided to pursue his long-standing interest in real estate.
In 2015, Mr Jones embarked on his real estate journey in Bowen, located in Queensland’s picturesque Whitsundays. However, in 2023, he made the pivotal decision with his wife, Rose Jones, to relocate to the Sunshine Coast, driven by a strong desire to be closer to his family.
“I spent eight years as a partner in an independent sales and property management firm in Bowen. During that time, Steve Worrad, the General Manager of Raine & Horne Queensland, approached me multiple times, suggesting a brand switch.
“However, my former business partner was content with our current situation.
“We did well after COVID and had a very high list-to-sell rate, but eventually, we decided to sell our business in Bowen. We faced limitations in terms of technology and realised that we had reached our maximum potential.
“Moreover, my wife Rose and I wanted to be closer to our grandchildren, and this led us to move to the Sunshine Coast.”
Prime office space on Steve Irwin Way sparks new venture
Mr Jones contacted Raine & Horne to discuss his upcoming relocation to the Sunshine Coast and his goal of opening an office, and this marked the beginning of an exciting turn of events.
“Kyle Pitman, the Business Development Manager at Raine & Horne, located an office space that seemed to tick plenty of boxes,” he said.
“Located on Steve Irwin Way, frequented by approximately one million passing vehicles annually, this office known locally as the Property Hub was fully equipped.
“We also saw this as a golden opportunity to kickstart a venture without building everything from the ground up. It’s unbelievable, and we can’t wait to bring our commitment to helping people buy and sell homes in Glenview and Glasshouse Mountains as we did in Bowen, but now with the backing of a powerhouse like Raine & Horne.”
The newly launched Raine & Horne Glenview/ Glasshouse Mountains will focus on selling residential properties and beautiful acreage blocks in the area.
“The median house price in Glasshouse Mountains/Glenview currently stands between $750,000 and $800,000, making it an attractive destination for investors and buyers alike,” Mr Jones said.
