Husband wife team score coastal gold with second Raine & Horne office

February 22, 2022

Star Gold Coast husband and wife team, Jason and Jacqui Read, Co-Principals of Raine & Horne Coomera, have launched a second office in Nerang.

Mr and Mrs Read opened Raine & Horne Coomera in the middle of 2018, and the launch of Raine & Horne Nerang follows the dynamic duo's purchase of an office that previously operated under the banner of a different brand. Moreover, Mr and Mrs Read’s acquisition was voted Number One nationally for sales by its previous network.

Mr Steve Worrad, General Manager, Raine & Horne, said the decision by Mr and Mrs Read is a natural next step in their business ownership journey.

"Jason and Jacqui are excellent operators who have carefully and strategically planned the opening of a second office.

"They are both excellent communicators, and I have no doubt they will make a success of their latest venture as they have with Raine & Horne Coomera," Mr Worrad said.

According to Mr Read, Raine & Horne Nerang has six property managers, two administrative staff and a sales team. In combination, the two offices will employ 30 real estate specialists.

Mr Read said, "Raine & Horne Nerang will also enable us to deliver Raine & Horne's industry-leading products and services to more vendors, buyers, landlords and tenants in the corridor between Pacific Pines to Mudgeeraba who have been underserviced."

The Raine & Horne point of difference

Raine & Horne's famed culture and family values make opening an office under the Superbrand's banner a no-brainer for Mr Read. "We feel the Raine & Horne brand suits Nerang starting with its status as one of Australia's oldest family-owned and operated businesses," he said.

"Nerang is popular with home buyers as it is close to the Gold Coast's famous beaches but still has a great family vibe."

Apart from its family values matching Nerang's, Raine & Horne will deliver its industry-leading suite of products and services to real estate consumers.

Mr Read said, "Other groups have tried the glitz and glamour approach and failed in Nerang. The family focus that Raine & Horne is legendary for is more aligned with the community values of Nerang."

Raine & Horne's technology ecosystem will also win plenty of appraisals and listings in Nerang, noted Mr Read.

"Raine & Horne is doing well with its technology offering such as its exclusive social media platform Amplify that uses artificial intelligence to put more properties in front of more buyers and its industry best CRM, Compass Plus.

"There are thousands of tenants struggling to find rentals in this region. However, we are helping long-term tenants who had virtually given up on homeownership buy a first property.

"We've been able to reach these people through SMS campaigns and Amplify, and it's a gratifying aspect of running a real estate office."

Delight at opening a second office

Mr Read says he and his wife are excited by the prospect of launching Raine & Horne Nerang.

"Having another office will give our staff room to grow and our sales agents more leverage to speak to more people,” he said.

"The second office will also enable us to service more clients from Molendinar down to Mudgeeraba and demonstrates Raine & Horne's strength on the western side of the Pacific Motorway (M1).”

Owner-occupiers dominate in Nerang

According to Mr Read, 70% of properties in Nerang are owner-occupied with the balance available for rent.

"Nerang and surrounding suburbs are popular with families shifting from the southern states in search of homes on larger blocks but who want to be close to the beaches and all the world-class amenities offered by the Gold Coast," Mr Read said.

The Gold Coast is well-served with schools, universities, hospitals, and excellent transport options like the GLink light rail. The region also has an airport offering flights around Australia and New Zealand.

"Nerang has always offered value for money for those who wish to live on the Gold Coast, and even after the last couple of years of growth, it's still very affordable," said Mr Read.

According to Mr Read, three or four bedroom older homes in Nerang on 600 – 900 square metre blocks sell for around $600,000.

"Nerang has a greener feel with parklands and open spaces and less of a development feel like newer suburbs on the Gold Coast," he said.

"The extra size of the blocks in Nerang will also underpin demand for houses in the suburb, especially from buyers with interest in renovating."
