Raine & Horne starts 2025 on a high, with Chris Nicholl appointed to lead the next phase of growth

January 12, 2025

Raine & Horne is set to start 2025 on a significant high with the appointment of Mr Chris Nicholl as CEO.

This strategic announcement follows a major rebrand by Raine & Horne, a rapid and significant expansion into New Zealand, where it now has 65 offices, and the 35th anniversary of its first international office network in Malaysia[i].

The appointment of Mr Chris Nicholl to the role reaffirms Raine & Horne’s commitment to continued growth, technology leadership, and success, positioning the company for further expansion.

Mr Nicholl brings over 35 years of experience in the property industry across Australasia. Since May 2023, he has led Raine & Horne Commercial.

Previously, Mr Nicholl had senior executive regional roles with three of the largest global real estate brands and was a CEO of Landmark White (now Acumentis), a publicly listed ASX company. He was also the Market Director for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in Singapore, overseeing the organisation’s activities throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Mr Angus Raine, Executive Chairman of Raine & Horne, said, “Chris’s expertise in property markets and franchise networks, combined with his strategic vision, positions Raine & Horne for dynamic growth and a thriving future on the global stage.

“Chris’s strategic vision and experience equip him to lead Raine & Horne into the next growth phase.”

Keeping real estate fundamentals front and center

As CEO, Mr Nicholl will lead the Raine & Horne brand, driving its growth strategy while supporting over 370 residential, commercial, rural, and financial services offices across Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, the UAE, and Fiji.

Mr Nicholl shared his vision for Raine & Horne's future, emphasising the importance of relationships in real estate. “While technology enhances our capabilities, at its core, real estate is a people business," he said. “Our relationships with partners, principals, and their teams are the foundation of our success and will continue to guide everything we do.

"As we look to 2025 and beyond, our strategy will remain grounded in the timeless principles of real estate—focusing on trust, service, and expertise."

Mr Nicholl will continue to lead the thriving Raine & Horne Commercial network, which spans over 30 offices across major capital cities and key regional growth hubs.

Reflecting on his leadership over the past 18 months, Mr Nicholl expressed pride in the progress and growth of the Raine & Horne Commercial network, even amid challenging market conditions.

“It’s been a privilege to lead the Raine & Horne Commercial network during a period of sustained success, including many record-breaking transactions,” he said.

“The overwhelming support from the Commercial network nationwide has been humbling. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and excited to bring this momentum to the entire Raine & Horne group as we head into 2025 and beyond.”
