The Darwin real estate market has started 2020 with a bang, with Raine & Horne Darwin selling a property a day for the first half of January.
“Given this fantastic start to the year, we expect the Darwin market to enjoy a boom 2020,” said Glenn Grantham, General Manager, Raine & Horne Darwin. “We expect to see a strengthening in the market that will reflect an increase in values by December 2020.”
For the first months of the year, Glenn said the increase in sales would remain the dominant market metric. “Both listings that have been sitting on the market for several months along with new properties for sale are attracting buyer attention.”
He continues, “We are even selling properties that aren’t even hitting the internet, which is a significant change from 2019.” Raine & Horne Darwin sold a 4-bedroom house in Lyons in the northern suburbs to the first buyer to enquire. “This level of activity is at odds with the commentary on our market emanating from the southern capital cities,” Glenn said. “Now is a great time to sell a property in Darwin and to visit our city to check out the investment possibilities.”
